Every option
What Claude training
costs in 2026.
Market ranges come from what other trainers publish. My own numbers are at the bottom of the table and in full further down.
| Option | Typical price (USD) | What you actually get | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free courses | $0 | Anthropic's own academy, YouTube, and free courses like my Claude 101. Generic by design: none of them know your business. | Individuals getting started |
| Self paced course | $50 to $500 per person | Pre recorded lessons. Low cost, low completion. Most teams buy 20 licences and three people finish. | Curious individuals |
| One off workshop, generic AI | $2,000 to $7,500 per session | A trainer runs a half or full day. Often ChatGPT content with Claude screenshots, and nothing built on your work. | Awareness, not adoption |
| Freelance Claude consultant | $150 to $300 per hour | Hourly help. Quality ranges from excellent to someone who watched the same videos your team did. | Small, specific fixes |
| Enterprise consultancy | $25,000+ per engagement | A team, a framework, a deck, a long timeline. Makes sense past a few hundred staff with compliance needs. | Large enterprises |
| Live team session with me | $1,500 to $12,500 | Hands on. Every person builds a working Claude tool on their real job. Recording and setup stay with your team. | Teams of 5 to 200+ |
| Fractional AI lead with me | From $3,500 per month | Roadmap, setup, team training and workflows built every month. Someone who owns it. | Companies rolling AI out across departments |

What moves the price
Four things decide
what you pay.
Length
90 minutes gets leadership oriented. Three hours gets a team building. A full day gets every person over the line, not most of them.
Online or on site
Online is roughly half the cost of the same session in the room, with no travel and a recording. On site adds travel and a venue but wins on energy.
Headcount
Most trainers price for a group and add per head over a cap. Mine covers 25 people, then $25 a person.
What happens after
A session with no follow up is a day of excitement. A retainer or a second session is where adoption actually lands.
My prices
Published, so you can
budget without a call.
Most trainers make you book a call to hear a number. Roughly 70% of them publish nothing. Here is mine, in USD, for groups up to 25. If your people do not walk away with something real, you do not pay.
90 minutes, live online. For leadership who have to make the call on AI and do not want to be the ones who have never used it.
3 hours live on Zoom, cameras on, everyone building. Recording and everything built on the call included.
Two sessions two to three weeks apart. The second one is where adoption lands, because people bring back what broke in between.
4 hours at your office or venue. Laptops open, no spectators. Travel at cost outside Alberta.
A full day on site. Deeper builds, more people, time to get every person over the line.
Your company’s AI strategist on a monthly retainer. Roadmap, setup, training and workflows built. Scales with the workload.
Groups over 25 add $25 per person. Owners who want to start alone book a $350 roadmap call. Full detail on Claude training for teams, online AI training, fractional AI strategist and 1:1 training.
The math
Compare it to the seats
you already pay for.
Plug in your own numbers. These are illustrative, not a promise.
| Line | Example: 20 person team |
|---|---|
| Claude Team seats | 20 seats x $25 a month = $500 a month, $6,000 a year, whether anyone uses them or not |
| One 3 hour team session | $4,500, once. Less than one year of seats. |
| Time saved after the session | If each person saves 2 hours a week at $50 an hour, that is $2,000 a week across the team |
| Payback | About 2 to 3 weeks at those numbers. The seats only pay off if people use them properly. |
The real cost of skipping training is not the training budget. It is paying full price for a tool your people use at a fraction of what it can do.
Before you pay anyone
Three questions that
sort trainers fast.
Do they run a business on it?
Ask to see the Claude setup they use for their own company. If they can only demo it, they are teaching theory. I run an agency, an ecommerce brand and a newsletter on Claude every day.
Who is on the keyboard?
If the trainer presents and your people watch, nothing sticks. Your team should build on their own work, in the session, with the trainer unblocking them.
What if it does not work?
Most trainers bill hours. Ask what happens if your team leaves with nothing. My answer: you do not pay.

Questions
Claude training cost,
answered.
How much does Claude training cost for a team?
A live, hands on Claude session for a team costs $1,500 to $12,500 USD in 2026, depending on length and whether it runs online or on site. Self paced courses are $50 to $500 per person. Ongoing help as a fractional AI lead starts at $3,500 a month. Big consultancies start at $25,000 per engagement.
Is Claude training worth it if we already pay for Claude Team?
Usually that is exactly when it is worth it. A Claude Team seat is about $25 a month. Twenty seats is $6,000 a year, and most of that is wasted if people use Claude like a search bar. One $4,500 session that gets twenty people building real workflows costs less than the seats do.
What is the cheapest way to train a team on Claude?
Start everyone on a free course, then book one 90 minute leadership session ($1,500) for leadership before deciding on a wider rollout. My free Claude 101 course is built for operators and takes about ten minutes to get a first workflow running.
Does the price change with team size?
My published prices cover up to 25 people. Over that it is $25 per extra person. Online sessions scale to any headcount, the largest I have run live was 187+ people on one call.
Can a grant cover Claude training?
In Canada, often yes. The Canada-Alberta Job Grant can cover up to 50% of eligible training costs for Alberta employers, and other provinces have similar programs. You apply as the employer before the training date. I hand you the outline and invoice format the application asks for.
What should I ask a Claude trainer before paying?
Three things. Do they use Claude to run a real business, or only to demo it? Will your people build on their own work, or watch a screen? And what happens if your team leaves with nothing? My answer to the last one is that you do not pay.
